The second year after my graduation, I worked for a private kindergarten in Limassol. It was July of 1982 that I decided to open my very own kindergarten. The thought derived from my need to apply my views and dreams on education in a space of mine.
Following that inspirational vision, the space το host my dream was found! An old mansion, in Ag. Zonis street, number 34. With light blue windows and the grandiose of stone made mansions, it looked like a small tower based in a corner of the street. A tower with windows colored light blue. Or maybe… a “Light Blue Tower”?
The dream came true and by September of 1982, with the beginning of the school year, “Light Blue Tower” was put on the city map and the pre-school education.
We introduced innovative ideas, implemented for the first time in private kindergartens in Cyprus.
- Collaboration with Petros Eyripidou, an athlete and trainer, so the children could be taught gymnastics by a professional, for the first time.
- Music lessons with Froso Konstantinifdou, a certified pianist.
- Creative work room, for practical activities that space is needed, such as water color drawing and various constructions.
- Dining room, where children could enjoy breakfast and lunch.
Nowadays, our school employs- apart from the principal- 6 well experienced and certified nursery workers, 7 assistants and one chief of staff. In that way, we can provide all the help a child needs to develop skills and abilities across any range. Our reward is the love and trust that hundreds of parents in the city show us every day.onstant training and revitalization with new ideas from the field of education, is our long-term promise. We will never hesitate in adapting revolutionary educational programs, like program “Areti”. So far, we are the only private kindergarten in Limassol to implement it.
